Yes, WalletMap is completely free to use. There are no premium tiers, no feature gates, and no hidden charges. We believe everyone should have access to a privacy-first asset tracking tool.
Your financial data is stored exclusively in a Google Sheets spreadsheet in your own Google Drive. Our servers never store your bank balances, stock holdings, crypto positions, or transaction history. We only store your basic Google profile (name and email) for authentication.
Yes, a Google account is required. WalletMap uses Google OAuth for authentication and Google Sheets as your personal data store. This is how we ensure your data remains under your control.
You can track bank accounts (savings, checking, fixed deposit, foreign currency), stocks (Taiwan market and US market), and cryptocurrencies (thousands of coins supported via CoinGecko). Each asset type has dedicated fields and automatic pricing.
Yes. You can export your data as an Excel file from the Settings page. Choose to export all assets or specific types (bank, stocks, crypto, transactions). You can also include live market prices in the export. Additionally, your data is always accessible directly in Google Sheets.
Very secure. We use Google OAuth 2.0 for authentication, TLS 1.3 encryption for all connections, HTTP-only session cookies, and follow OWASP best practices. Most importantly, since we don't store your financial data, there's nothing sensitive to breach on our servers.
WalletMap supports 12 currencies: TWD (New Taiwan Dollar), USD, JPY, EUR, GBP, HKD, CNY, KRW, SGD, AUD, CAD, and CHF. Exchange rates are updated daily, and you can display your total assets in any of these currencies.
No, WalletMap requires an internet connection to access your Google Sheets data, fetch live market prices, and maintain your authenticated session. However, your data in Google Sheets can be accessed offline through Google's own offline mode.
If you stop using WalletMap or revoke access, your Google Sheets spreadsheet remains untouched in your Google Drive. Your financial data is never deleted unless you manually delete the spreadsheet yourself.
WalletMap works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version for the best experience and security.
WalletMap is a responsive web application that works well on mobile browsers. There is no native iOS or Android app at this time, but the mobile web experience is fully optimized for touch devices and smaller screens.
Stock and crypto prices come from reputable providers: FinMind for Taiwan stocks, Yahoo Finance for US stocks, and CoinGecko for cryptocurrencies. Prices are cached briefly for performance but are generally updated within minutes. Note that prices are for informational purposes and should not be used as the sole basis for trading decisions.
Cryptocurrency prices are refreshed via scheduled tasks every few minutes. Stock prices are fetched on demand when you view your portfolio. Exchange rates are updated once daily. You can manually refresh your dashboard to get the latest prices.

Your data has multiple layers of protection: Google Drive's built-in version history, Google's cloud redundancy, and the ability to make copies. You can also use File > Make a Copy in Google Sheets or export to Excel from WalletMap's Settings page for local backups.
We use FinMind for Taiwan stock market data, Yahoo Finance for US stock market data, CoinGecko for cryptocurrency prices, and ExchangeRate-API for currency exchange rates. We only send asset symbols to these services — never your personal information.
